Route Overview
This route is built around Hainan’s east coast, starting from a local ride base and moving day by day along scenic coastal roads and shoreline sections. It connects towns, villages, sea views, highways, and practical supply stops over the course of about 420 km.
The itinerary is divided into four roughly even stages of around 105 km per day. That pacing keeps the ride challenging while still leaving room for sightseeing, replenishment, and local experiences, making it suitable for group rides, branded experiences, and destination cycling programs.
Route Highlights
- Scenic roads, coastal sections, and established riding routes dominate the full course.
- About 420 km completed across four stages, balancing distance, recovery, and slow-travel moments.
- Reliable lodging, food, and roadside services make it well suited to organized teams.
- Support vehicles, lead riders, and sweep coverage can be folded in to raise comfort and safety.
Schedule
Day 1: Start Point – First East Coast Stage
Ride about 105 km. After check-in and a group briefing, the team rolls out from the starting base, settles into the opening stage, stops for a midday refuel, and then checks into the first overnight stay.
Day 2: Continue Along the East Coast
Ride about 105 km. After breakfast and a quick gear reset, the team continues through changing scenery, refuels in a town along the route at midday, and reaches the next accommodation stop in the afternoon.
Day 3: Scenic Coastal Riding
Ride about 105 km. The route stays close to island scenery, with special attention to heat, sun exposure, and crosswinds. The team rests after arrival and confirms the plan for the final stage.
Day 4: Finish the Route
Ride about 105 km. The last stage closes out the full route, followed by stretching, group photos, sign-out, and the official end of the ride.
Accommodation & Supplies
- Accommodation is arranged in boutique guesthouses or business hotels along the route, generally in standard twin rooms with breakfast included.
- Lunches are arranged around towns and roadside dining options, while dinners focus on local dishes or team meals.
- Larger luggage can travel in the support vehicle so riders only carry day-use supplies, sun protection, rain gear, documents, and valuables.
- Long-distance riders should still bring their own preferred energy gels, bars, salt tablets, and electrolyte drinks.
Safety & Support
- Helmets and cycling gloves are required throughout the route. Follow traffic rules and avoid wrong-way riding, lane blocking, or dangerous pacing.
- Road bikes or endurance bikes, front and rear lights, navigation, spare tubes, tire levers, and a mini pump or CO₂ inflator are essential.
- A support vehicle is strongly recommended for emergency supplies, rider recovery, bike issues, and baggage transfer.
- Each day should begin with a check on weather, road notes, detours, refuel points, and retreat options.
